Fashion Workshops for Young People
Hackney
4th July to 8th July 2005
London
College of Fashion and Fashion Awareness Direct will be
running another series of workshops for year 10 students
at schools and colleges in the area of Hackney. The workshops
will cover the whole process of fashion design from initial
research through to a completed product. Workshops will
include visual research as inspiration, design development,
printed textiles and draping on the stand. Students will
learn how to construct their design, including an accessory,
which will then be styled and displayed in the final day
catwalk show. Students will also have the opportunity to
meet different professionals involved in the Fashion Industry
such as designers, stylists and hair & make up artists.
At
the end of the course participants will have built a complete
portfolio reflecting the work created during the course:
mood boards, drawings, illustrations, photography and the
constructed garment. Guidance on how to transfer these skills
to application for entry into fashion and art colleges will
also be given.
The
courses are funded by Enterprise Path Finder.
