We’ve done a couple of exciting projects with Fashion Awareness Direct (FAD) this year already and a few weeks ago launched a brand new competition for the students to commemorate this summer’s mood for celebration. A challenge was set for them to “Design a gown fit for a fashion queen or a dress that could win Olympic best”.
Students were asked to interpret this brief in any way they wanted and to come up with a mood board and designs which would then be judged.
We had a ton of amazing entries from the FAD students and I was genuinely very impressed with the quality of the entries and the creativity that was unleashed!
It was a very difficult decision to pick the top three but we are really pleased to announce the winning FAD students – Hannah Dang, Toyosi Salvador and Shermmain Telan. Read my comments on the winning entries here.
The finalists are now making up their designs and have to bring them to life in less than four weeks – when they will be displayed on our Graduate Fashion Week stand and the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners will be announced.
George would like to say thanks to the fabulous FAD students who entered the competition and especially to Fran, Maria, Joanne, Reyes and the team from the FAD office, and a big well done to our three winners.
We cannot wait to see the finished results – watch this space for updates from Graduate Fashion Week.
