FAD & George at Asda Graduate Fashion Week Design Competition, a set on Flickr.
George at Asda have launced a once in a lifetime competition to FAD students – to design a garment for their sponsorship stand at Graduate Fashion Week in June.
Taking inspiration from the Queen’s jubilee and/or the Olympics, Fashion Futures teenagers have been set the challenge of creating a gown that is ‘fit for a fashion queen or a dress that could win Olympic best’.
From the entries on Flickr, three winners will be selected make their designs into real garments for the UK’s largest graduate showcase. Once they submit the final garments, the George jury will convene again to award Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to the young designers.
In addition to seeing their creations take pride of place on George’s official sponsorship stand at the event, they will also be invited to spend a day with the George team visiting fashion shows and reporting for the retailer’s style blog. The overall Gold medal winner will also receive a VIP ticket to the Graduate Fashion Week Gala show on the last night. An amazing and highly coveted prize!
FAD have received lots of innovative entries over the past week, now displayed on our Flickr page, and we think the design team at George is going to struggle to choose just three winners!
