Stage 1: Saturday Workshops

Over ten Saturday workshops, students receive expert tuition from practising designers who give them an insight into the whole fashion design and construction process - from initial research to making up a toile. They also have the chance to spend a day at the design studios of one of FAD's retail partners, where they can gain a realistic impression of the fashion workplace and where industry professionals can advise them on their designs.

At the end of the course, students' work is exhibited at a central London venue. All participants are presented with a certificate, and the finalists who have been selected to go on to Stage 2 are announced.
