The human and environmental cost of fast fashion is shockingly bad.
We held a workshop at Skinner’s Academy in our home borough of Hackney to raise awareness about how the fashion industry, particularly denim production, impacts on the world we live in and to encourage young people to do something about it!
Year 9 textiles students were asked to bring their old and boring jeans along to the workshop. The group they spent the day with us customising them, creating something cool out of denim destined for landfill. From boring to banging, and helping to save our planet along the way.

Kinder to the environment, kinder to humanity and kinder to your wallet. Triple win.

I mean, who actually needs to buy a pair of denim cut offs when we all have old jeans in our wardrobes?

The group got super involved and creative.

Embellishment: printing, sticking, embroidery – a great way to get your old denims festival ready
Thanks to all at Skinner’s Academy, especially year 9 Textiles. It was a pleasure to work with you and we hope to see you at Fashion Futures in a few years!
