FAD 10 Film by Lavinia Scifoni & Tommaso Albertini

The FAD 10 Charity Gala Show, which took place at Vauxhall Fashion Scout on Tuesday 21st February 2012, saw over 200 guests turn out to celebrate the 10th birthday of fashion charity FAD.

On the night a short film featuring interviews with industry supporters and young designers was followed by a lively catwalk retrospective. Designs from the past 10 years of the FAD Competition opened the show, followed swiftly by innovative new collections by past winners and finalists under the banner ‘FAD Presents’.

Exhibiting alongside the catwalk show were illustrations by the 14 finalists of the 2012 FAD Illustration & Design Competition representing universities and colleges from across the UK.

After the finale guests took part in a fashion auction bidding for, among others, a dress from Paul Costelloe’s s/s 2012 collection; bespoke jacket by Duchess of Cambridge favourite Katherine Hooker and a Lara Bohinc clutch bag kindly donated by Browns.

Since its inception FAD has worked with over 8,000 talented young people across the UK. In addition to running the competition for undergraduates, FAD employs fashion as a tool to develop skills and raise ambition and aspirations among teenagers from inner-city areas of London and Manchester.

All money raised on the night will sponsor hands-on training and opportunities for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through FAD's specialist workshops.

A massive thank you to all the sponsors & friends who supported us in the FAD 10 event:
