The sixth workshop of the FAD Fashion Futures programme saw the students beginning to translate their 2-D designs into 3-D reality.
They were finalising the first drafts of their patterns, checking fit and adding seam allowance.
After that it was time to pin the pattern pieces on to pressed fabric and cut them out, followed by the jigsaw puzzle of piecing the different components of the garment together.
There was a quiet determination in the studio as everyone concentrated hard. With only two weeks of practical workshops to go, every moment counts!
This week’s homework is to create a fashion illustration, using colour, composition and context to produce a creative artwork which communicates the spirit and concept of their design.
As always, a massive thanks to our wonderful volunteers and the support from ASOS and NatWest which make the sessions such a success.
