After a Saturday off for half term, the Fashion Futures students came back refreshed and ready for an intensive morning’s pattern cutting!
The fifth workshop of the Fashion Futures programme was busy, as the students continued to develop and refine their paper patterns so that they can achieve their intended designs in their calico toile.
The homework task is a comparison shop – an important part of the students’ commercial research and analysis. They’ll be thinking about style, price point, and target customers, as well as the ambiance of the shops, the store layouts and the range of products. It will enable them to position themselves within the market as designers, allow then to understand their competitors and help them to compare their products to others on the market – all necessary information for staying ahead of the game in the competitive fashion marketplace.
As always, a massive thanks to all the industry volunteers who made the workshops possible.
