FAD are delighted to be one of two London charities selected by our new sponsors, Natwest, to showcase at City Giving Day tomorrow.
The event organised by the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and supported by media partners City A.M. is a chance for the City of London and its many workers and companies to promote and celebrate the charitable and community work they do.
On the day many charities will have stands in offices and branches across the city, and there will be lots of fundraising activities taking place to support the Lord Mayors Appeal.
FAD will have a stand in the main branch of Natwest, in Princes street, showcasing four of the young designers who took part in last week’s Fashion Futures final. The teenagers will have the chance to meet the Lord Mayor, Alderman Alan Yarrow, to talk about their FAD experience, and how the support of Natwest (through the RBS Skills & Opportunities Fund) will make a difference to creative young people across London.
“I’ve always felt like I want to do bigger things but money has restricted me. Paying so much for opportunities makes you think that some designers are just designers because of their money, and not because of their talent. I just think that’s not right. People should be able to express themselves and get somewhere in life without the need for lots of money.” Nurdan Sinal, Fashion Futures Award Winner
“There are over 350,000 workers in the City, and thousands more connected to it, all of whom make a difference in giving back to society. CITY GIVING DAY will be a moment where I will champion companies and organisations across and connected with the City, regardless of their size or sector, for the good that they do.” The Lord Mayor, Alderman Alan Yarrow
