It’s been a busy time for the FAD team with the recent FAD 10 Celebrations, at London Fashion Week, but as things get back to normal at FAD HQ we look forward to updating the blog with lots of great photos from the ongoing Fashion Futures workshops, currently taking place in London.
Week three and the 100 recruits from schools & colleges across 18 of the capital’s boroughs get down to business with an introduction to design development. Drawing ideas and inspiration from their sketchbooks and moodboards, the teenagers combine their first hand research from the British Galleries at the V&A Museum with their own personal take on what it means to be British today.
After working on their design ideas and development the budding creatives take to the industrial sewing machines for their first lesson in construction. For many it’s the first time they have used a sewing machine as they are taught the many different techniques that they will later need to make their garments.
