THE LAST WEEK OF FASHION FUTURES SAW 11 WEEKS OF HARD WORK COME TO FRUITION
The past couple of weeks have been incredibly busy for the 2017 Fashion Futures students, as they rushed to finish their toiles and prepare to present their designs to a jury panel.
This year’s jury panel was made up of Philip Northey (Natwest), Vanessa Spence (ASOS), Robert Bazeley (All Saints), Melissa Allada (FAD Creative Core), Carole Robb (FAD Trustee), Amy Crofts (George) and Abbey Jones (George).
It took a few hours to go through all the presentations, so whilst the earlybirds were talking about their designs, inspirations and themes; others were ironing, stitching and working on their finishing touches.
It was incredible to see how far the students had come in the last 11 weeks when they were presenting their work to the judges. Every young person whether super chatty or a bit shy, did themselves proud.
At the end of the day, the jury panel were faced with some incredibly hard decisions, whittling down the designs to 20 that will be made in full at this year’s summer school. After some lively discussions, the final twenty were decided.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved, not just the final twenty! You should all be incredibly proud of your work and how much you’ve all achieved in such a short space of time.
