On Saturday, FAD welcomed 70 creative London teens to the V&A for the much-anticipated launch of Fashion Futures 2018.
The day kicked off with an introduction to the programme by garment-tech double act Clara (FF 2011) and Melissa (FF2013). They were joined by recent Fashion Futures graduates Salma, Natalie, Gloria and Elaine who shared their stories and their tips for making the most out of the whole Fashion Futures experience.
The 2018 project brief, called Co|Lab, asks students to combine inspiration from the past and present of British design, and to investigate the global influences on British creativity – so they headed straight to the V&A’s amazing British Galleries to gather the first-hand research which will be the starting point for their garment designs.
From what we’ve seen already, 2018 looks set to be a great Fashion Futures year. Keep an eye on the our blog and follow @fadcharity on instagram for more project updates.
Huge thanks to our project sponsors, without whom all this wouldn’t be possible
