Fashion Futures 2012, graduating from BA (Hons) Fashion Design Womenswear at Central St Martins
Just days after Hannah showed her graduate collection on the runway at the Central St Martins degree show, this week singer Rina Sawayama wowed onlookers in Hannah’s exquisite hand-painted tattoo dress at the Elle List 2018. Hannah spoke to us about her Fashion Futures experience, university and her future plans
Taking part in Fashion Futures was an unforgettable and eye-opening experience. I was able to do so many things for the first time. FAD gave me the opportunity to attend my very first fashion show as well as being part of it. I was also able to attend my very first Graduate Fashion Week with FAD and exhibited my illustrations there with George at Asda.
My uni experience at Saint Martins is everything I dreamed of and more. I was able to experiment and try new things out of my comfort zone. I also discovered my strengths and weaknesses along the way. Most importantly, I discovered myself as a designer and what sort of path was suited for me. University has helped shaped me into the designer that I am today.
As for my future plans, I’m planning to work within the industry for a couple of years to build my experiences and knowledge.
If I could give a piece of advice to someone taking part in Fashion Futures this year, I would say to make friends and network! The fashion industry is really small!
