A week of inspiration, learning techniques and a lot of creativity brought together 15 young people at the V&A. We got to see the “Fashioned from Nature” and the Frida Kahlo exhibitions that influenced the projects during the week. For the volunteers it was an experience to get to know young people that learned from them the tricks and the mystery that is the Fashion industry and the young people got the opportunity to put together their portfolio and fill it with their designs, sketches and ideas.
“I’ve learnt that there are lots of different routes I could take [in the Fashion Industry] and it’s quite exciting to see what different areas of design you could go into, like print design and pattern cutting.” – Aoife Brown
“I have never volunteered before so it is really cool to see the young people learning new skills and helping them overcome their struggles.” – Katie Linacre, Asos
A big thank you to the V&A and to all our volunteers
